Booting

PCs all boot using the BIOS

* Initialises hardware

* Loads another loader (e.g. LILO) from disc

Others are all different:

* Workstations have nice booters

* Older Micros/PDAs don't have facilities for other OSs

* Boot from ROM with simple booter

* May have to initialise hardware

Linux booters:

* SILO=Sun, MILO=Alpha, ARLO=Psion5
